P4-M illegal drugs busted in Kabankalan

BACOLOD City – Three individuals were apprehended yesterday morning in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental for possession of over P4 million worth of suspected shabu.

Suspects identified as Hamid Sanggacala, 19, and a student; Lykey Vina, 38; and Cherry Tuazon, 35, were all residents of Iligan City in Lanao del Norte.

The buy-bust operation at Hacienda San Lucas in Barangay Hilamonan at approximately 7 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 12, was carried out by the Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group, Special Operation Unit 6, Kabankalan City Police Station, Regional Intelligence Unit 6, and Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group-Visayas Field Unit.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Roberto Indiape Jr., chief of the Kabankalan City police, the trio arrived from Bacolod City to allegedly supply shabu within the province.

Recovered items included six packs of suspected shabu weighing 600 grams and valued at P4,080,000, the buy-bust money, and non-drug-related items.

The three will face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
