Pa, son nabbed over frustrated murder rap

BACOLOD City – Charged with frustrated murder, a man and his son were arrested in Sitio Antawan, Barangay Canlandog, Murcia, Negros Occidental.

They were identified as the 68-year-old Patricio “Patring” Esparicia and 29-year-old Claro “Jomar” Esparicia, a police report showed.

The older Esparicia is the No. 5 most wanted person in Murcia while his son, the No. 3 most wanted, police said.

The Esparicias were caught around 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday on the strength of an arrest warrant that retired Judge Gorgonio Ybañez of the Regional Trial Court Branch 46 in Bacolod City issued on May 16, 2007.

Joint elements of the Regional and Provincial Intelligence Units, Regional Mobile Force Battalion-6 and Murcia police station staged the arrest.

Recovered from the Esparicias were an improvised shotgun loaded with five live bullets of  a 12-gauge shotgun and an improvised shotgun loaded with two live bullets of a 12-gauge shotgun, police said.

The suspects were detained at the Murcia municipal police station lockup facility./PN
