ILOILO – A drunken altercation between two brothers in Passi City, Iloilo ended in a violent duel that landed both in the hospital with severe injuries.
Passi City police identified the siblings as aliases “Alvin,” 33, and “Ron,” 26, both residents of the component city’s Barangay Magdungao.
Police Lieutenant Colonel German Magbanua III, chief of the Passi City Police Station, stated in an interview with DYRP Life Radio Iloilo that the incident occurred at around 9:15 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 7, while the two were having a drinking session.
Magbanua said an argument erupted between the siblings due to intoxication. It later escalated when Ron grabbed a bolo and hacked his elder brother.
Alvin retaliated by grabbing a glass bottle, breaking it, and using the edge to stab Ron.
Police said Ron sustained wounds to his neck and other parts of the body, while Alvin suffered head injuries. They were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment./PN
