BACOLOD City – The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) station in northern Negros Occidental now has a new station commander.

Coast Guard Commander Joe Luviz Mercurio formally turned over his duties to Coast Guard Commander Paterno Belarmino Jr. on Wednesday, March 20.

The turnover ceremony was held at the headquarters of the Coast Guard District Western Visayas (CGDWV) at Barangay Bo. Obrero, Lapuz, Iloilo City and presided over by CGDWV commander Captain Weniel Azcuna.

Belarmino, in turn, also relinquished his duties to Commander Jan Terazona, who is now the incoming station commander of Coast Guard Station Iloilo.

Both Mercurio and Belarmino also received the Coast Guard Merit Medal and Ribbon in recognition of their meritorious achievements. (Watchmen Daily Journal)/PN
