MANILA – Stallion Laguna FC reclaimed the third spot in the 2019 Philippines Football League after a 7-0 beating of the Green Archers United FC over the weekend at the Aboitiz Pitch in Lipa, Batangas.
Fitch Arboleda scored a hat trick.
Ilonggo Jo Warren Bedia contributed a brace while Abou Sy and Nathaniel Alquiros each had a conversion.
After missing their first few attempts, Stallion Laguna broke the scoreless deadlock at the 23rd minute by a Sy hit before it was followed by Arboleda’s first goal two minutes later for a 2-0 halftime edge.
Back-to-back hits by Stallion Laguna’s Arboleda and Bedia to open the second half upped the advantage to 4-0.
Then they went on a goal spree in the final three minutes of the match from Arboleda, Bedia and Alquiros.
With the victory, Stallion Laguna climbed to third spot in the standings with 25 points, on seven wins, four draws and four losses.
The Green Archers dropped to fourth with 22 points, on six wins, four draws and six losses.
In the curtain raiser, Global Makati FC and Philippine Air Force FC settled for a 1-1 deadlock. The Air Force and Global still occupied the sixth and seventh spot with eight and five points, respectively.
After firing blanks earlier in the match, the Air Force gained the advantage at the 70th minute on a hit by Alvin Obero but it was quickly negated by Global five minutes later courtesy of Marvin Bricenio./PN
