ILOILO City – After hiding from authorities for about nine years, a fugitive was finally arrested in Barangay Tagbac Sur, Oton, Iloilo.
The 48-year-old Elmer Niqua faces a charge for less serious physical injury for an incident sometime in 2012, a police report showed.
Niqua – resident of Barangay Alalasan, Lapuz district – was caught on the strength of an arrest warrant around 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 25, police said.
He was taken to the Oton police station. The court recommended a P1,000 bail bond for his temporary liberty.
It was still unclear as of this writing if the suspect posted bail./PN
