ILOILO City – A rape suspect was arrested yesterday in Barangay Nasunogan, Dao, Capiz.
The 75-year-old Carlito “Carling” Aguro was the No. 13 most wanted person in Capiz, a police report showed.
Aguro, a farmer and resident of Barangay Quinabcaban, Dao, had been charged with two counts of violation of Republic Act 8353 (The Anti-Rape Law of 1997 in relation to Republic Act 7610).
Officers from the Dao police station and the Capiz Police Provincial Office’s Special Operations Group caught the suspect at around 12:15 p.m.
Presiding Judge Salvador S. Gubaton of the Regional Trial Court Branch 14 in Roxas City issued the arrest warrant against Aguro on July 3, 2006 yet.
The suspect was detained at the Dao police station. No bail bond had been set for his temporary liberty./PN
