Miss Universe co-owner Raul Rocha accused Chavit Singson of being a “delusional fool” amid the ongoing tussle over the global tilt’s ownership, as the pageant organization stressed that it’s still owned by Rocha and Anne Jakrajutatip.
In an Instagram Story on Saturday, Jan. 3, Rocha called out a “delusional fool and his daughter” for making such statements against the Miss Universe Organization (MUO), without naming Singson.
“I’m fed up with that delusional fool and his daughter making statements, dreaming of something he wouldn’t be able to achieve in a hundred years. Keep dreaming, my lawyers will put an end to your fairytales,” he said.
Despite not naming Singson, the Mexican business mogul’s harsh comment came moments after the former Ilocos Sur governor claimed that Rocha and Jakrajutatip are no longer the owners of the MUO.
This claim was also denied by the MUO in a statement on its official website and social media platforms. The organization also called out those making “false and misleading statements” against them.
“The organization also finds it necessary to address recent false and misleading statements regarding its ownership and leadership. These statements have been made seeking to misrepresent ownership, falsely suggest acquisition or purchasing opportunities, and create confusion,” it said.
“Such actions appear designed to deceive the public, improperly solicit investments, and exploit the Miss Universe brand for personal benefit, visibility, or advantage. In response, the Miss Universe Organization states clearly and unequivocally: The Miss Universe Organization remains under its current ownership and leadership,” it continued.
The MUO added that it is planning to take “all appropriate and necessary steps” to prevent the spreading of alleged misinformation regarding its owners.
“The Miss Universe Organization is actively reviewing these matters with its legal advisors and will take all appropriate and necessary steps to address and prevent further false, misleading, or unauthorized actions or statements,” it said.
“The organization remains committed to protecting its integrity, its partners, and the public from deception or misuse of its name, brand, and reputation. [It] encourages the public, partners, and members of the media to rely solely on its official channels for accurate and verified information. Updates regarding the organization, including matters related to leadership and structure, are published exclusively on the official website at www.missuniverse.com,” it added.
Despite affirming its stance, the whereabouts of the MUO owners remain unknown, as Rocha is being investigated for alleged drug, gun, and fuel trafficking.
