KALIBO, Aklan – Register your bikes before July 31.

This was a reminder from Kalibo municipal treasurer Rey Villaruel to the owners of bicycles, e-bikes and trisikads in Kalibo.
Municipal Ordinance No. 2014-21, or the Kalibo Municipal Revenue Code, requires the annual bike registration.

Bicycle owners are charged P50 for the registration and P100 for e-bike and trisikad owners. Each unit must also get a P25 sticker from the Treasurer’s Office.

A 25-percent penalty increase will be imposed for those who will register their bikes after the deadline plus two percent increase each succeeding month, Villaruel said.

Kalibo police will be apprehending owners of unregistered bikes.

The registration fee will be used by the local government for the safety and order in the town./PN
