ILOILO City – A village watchman in Barangay Rizal Estanzuela, City Proper was attacked by a drunken resident, a police report showed.
John Fred Qubing, 28, was arrested. He faces charges, police said.
Tanod June Mark Peralta, 30, reprimanded Qubing for being drunk at around 12:50 a.m. on Jan. 26. This annoyed the latter, police said.
Qubing went home only to return armed with a knife. He attempted to attack Peralta but was subdued by his landlord, stated the police report.
Qubing continued berating Peralta, and then suddenly charged at the latter, resulting in a scuffle.
Both Qubing and Peralta sustained stab wounds on their bodies. Personnel from the Iloilo City Emergency Response team treated their wounds./PN
