ROXAS City – In a significant breakthrough in Capiz’s anti-drug campaign, law enforcement officials apprehended a high-value target during a coordinated buy-bust operation in Barangay Adlawan, Roxas City on August 9.
The operation was carried out at around 5:33 p.m. by the Capiz Police Provincial Office’s (CPPO) Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) under the supervision of Provincial Director Colonel Albert D. Tapulao.
Police seized around 15 grams of suspected shabu valued at P102,000 and drug paraphernalia.
The suspect, who is listed as a top priority on the Provincial Priority Target List, is now detained at the Roxas City Police Station. He will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, which imposes stiff penalties on illegal drug offenders.
The CPPO vowed to intensify anti-drug operations, aiming to dismantle drug networks and protect residents from the threats posed by illegal substances./PN
