KALIBO, Aklan – The manhunt is over for a robbery suspect who escaped from the lock-up cell of Numancia municipal police station.
Twenty-year-old Val “Baldo” Bandejas was arrested on Mabini Street around 7:45 p.m. on Thursday.
Bandejas robbed a bakery store in Laguinbanua East, Numancia on Wednesday.
He was detained but managed to escape around 2 a.m. the next day by destroying the police station ceiling.
A detainee alerted the police on duty.
Police have launched a manhunt operation to recapture Bandejas.
Police Officer 3 Eric Lachica, chief investigator of Numancia police, said the suspect was last seen on Thursday night in the house of his live-in partner across City Mall Kalibo on Mabini Street.
“Tumawag ang kapatid ng live-in partner sa amin, napansin ito ng suspect at kaagad na umalis,” Lachica added.
Bandejas was subjected to inquest proceedings for robbery before the Aklan Provincial Prosecutor’s Office yesterday. (Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
