BACOLOD City – His neighbor hacked him to death, police said.
The 42-year-old Harold Benida of Barangay Bato, Sagay City, Negros Occidental died of multiple hack wounds.
Tagged suspect for the killing around 11:50 p.m. on Feb. 2 was 42-year-old Maximiano Lumanog.
According to police investigators, Benida and his wife were having an argument when the suspect barged into their house and attacked the man.
It was unclear as of this writing if the suspect was a relative of the victim’s wife.
Benida was initially brought to the Alfredo E. Marañon District Hospital in Sagay City but was later referred to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital here where he was pronounced dead.
The Sagay City police station conducted a manhunt operation against Lumanog who fled after the incident./PN
