ANTIQUE – The lifeless body of a 60-year-old man was discovered early yesterday morning, January 6, along the shoreline of Barangay Aras-Asan, Sebaste town here.
Police Chief Master Sergeant Crisanto Olarte, investigator of the Sebaste Municipal Police Station (MPS), identified the victim as Pacifico Cajilig, a resident of the said barangay.
Olarte said their station was alerted by the barangay captain following the discovery of Cajilig’s body at around 5:20 a.m. by a local fisherman.
Initial police investigation showed that Cajilig was last seen attending a wake at a house approximately 50 meters from the shoreline at around 2 a.m.
Witnesses confirmed that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time.
Police believed he may have accidentally fallen from the seawall and failed to recover, resulting to his death.
Olarte added they have ruled out foul play in the incident./PN
