BACOLOD City – The Sangguniang Panlungsod requested the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) to put up a satellite office at the Bacolod City Government Center.
Councilor Cindy Rojas, who authored the resolution approved by the SP last week, said it is “necessary” to provide immediate medical services, through the CDRRMO, at the center.
“It’s the duty of every local government unit to promote the health and safety of its people,” said Rojas. “Accidents happen on the most unexpected time and in the most unexpected places, even in the Bacolod City Government Center.”
Rojas believes the CDRRMO satellite, with complete facilities, will “speed up” emergency response in the city.
CDRRMO officer-in-charge Dondon Parandas has yet to receive the resolution but said he will coordinate with the City Health Office (CHO) upon receipt.
Parandas will ask the CHO if they can stay at the second floor of the center, where the health office was also situated.
An ambulance will also be deployed at the center, Parandas added./PN
