BORACAY – Thirteen sachets of shabu were seized from a hotel security guard in a buy-bust operation in the island.
Staged by the drug enforcement unit of the Boracay police station, the operation led to the arrest of Alex Garcera, 33, of Tapaz, Capiz.
Garcera – who was staying in Barangay Yapak, Malay, Aklan – sold shabu to an undercover police officer for P1000 around 8:10 p.m. on Aug. 25, a police report showed.
Police confiscated Garcera’s 9mm pistol, which was provided by his agency.
Garcera denied the accusation against him.
“Planted ang drugs sa akin. Wala naman akong ganyan sa loob ng bag ko,” said Garcera, who was a former member of the Philippine Army.
He was detained and facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
