BACOLOD City – A Philippine Army soldier was accused of beating up a Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (Cafgu) member in Isabela, Negros Occidental.
Staff Sergeant Joeffrey Surte, commander of the 12th Infantry Battalion detachment in Barangay Cansalongon, allegedly mauled Estaniel Pulmare.
Chief Inspector Edfel Balibadlan of the Isabela police said they learned about the incident from Ignacio Arroyo Sr. Memorial District Hospital, where Pulmare was taken for the treatment of contusions on the body.
The alleged mauling happened around 10 a.m. on Feb. 7.
Police was investigating the incident./PN
