BACOLOD City – A man shot his uncle in Hacienda Hortencia, Barangay Daga, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
Police identified the suspect as the 20-year-old Rene Torres of Hacienda Israel in the village.
Torres caught his uncle, 40-year-old Loreto Europa Jr., beating his mother at around 7 a.m. on Oct. 23, police said.
Europa sustained gunshot wounds on the left shoulder and chest.
Torres fled but Cadiz City police arrested him at around 7:30 a.m.
Europa was brought to the Cadiz District Hospital for treatment.
A .38-caliber revolver was recovered from Torres.
Torres was detained at the Cadiz City police station custodial facility./PN
