- ROBERT’S International Academy Panda Rockets claimed the overall championship in the elementary and secondary events of the 2017 ILOPRISAA badminton on Saturday in Iloilo City.
In the elementary division, Panda Rockets claimed the titles in boys’ and girls’ doubles while finishing second in girls’ singles.
Joe Moncada and Arnie Postre bagged the boys’ doubles title while Andrea Hernandez and Ma. Rhylyn Pedron won the girls’ doubles gold. Althee Hernandez was a runner-up in girls’ singles.
St. Robert’s also secured a 1-2 finish in boys’ and girls’ singles, and a gold medal in girls’ doubles, and a silver in boys’ singles in the high school division.
Phonum Marie Barrientos and Maria Belen won gold and silver in girls’ singles, while Reigh Heart Ga-an and Kervin Llanes had a 1-2 finish in boys’ singles. Belen and Kate Amigable bagged gold in girls’ doubles.
Meanwhile, Western Institute of Technology and John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University claimed the overall championships in tertiary women and men of karatedo, respectively.
In futsal, Central Philippine University captured the secondary girls’ title, beating University of San Agustin. Ateneo de Iloilo wounded up on third place./PN
