ROXAS City – The local government of Sapian, Capiz has provided 34 drug surrenderees livelihood aid in the form of loans.
Under the Kapatiran Sa Masaganang Kabuhayan, the beneficiaries availed themselves of loans for a start-up capital (between P3,000 to P10,000).
The loans were payable in three months with a 1-percent interest.
The 34 surrenderees received P3,000 each.
“[They compose] our first batch of livelihood loan assistance beneficiaries,” said Municipal Information Officer Roberto Opina. “The same assistance will be released to those who wish to avail [themselves of] it soon.”
A total of 112 suspected users and/or pushers in Sapian have surrendered to the authorities as a result of Oplan Double Barrel.
The beneficiaries had undergone a two-day orientation facilitated by the local government’s training group, Opina said. (PIA/PN)
