MANILA – Team Negros Occidental Football Association (NOFA)-Philippines notched its first win in the 2019 Soong Ching Ling Cup China – ASEAN Youth Football Friendly Matches in Hangzhou, China.

Team NOFA dominated Singapore, 5-0, on Sunday behind the goal conversions of Ethan Jacob Roxas, Christian Rendon, Mark Anthony Talingting, Kian Klent Catoto, and Kian Terrence Niu.

Prior to that, Team NOFA settled for a 2-2 draw with Malaysia. Elijah Raj Pabalate scored the two goals for the Philippine representatives.

Team NOFA then suffered a 4-2 loss to host China with Pabalat and Luke Apuhan providing the conversions for the Philippine team.

The NOFA-Philippines players are standouts from the NOFA Cup 2019 that was held last summer in Bacolod. They were from different parts of the Philippines (Bacolod, Cebu, Davao, Dumaguete, and Manila).

This will be the third time NOFA-Philippines is taking part in the prestigious ASEAN youth football tourney as they aim to improve their fourth place finish last year when they beat China in the elimination round, 3-0, but lost to the hosts for third place spot./PN
