BACOLOD City – A policeman was shot dead by an unidentified motorcycle gunman in Barangay Patun-an, Calatrava, Negros Occidental.
Police Staff Sergeant John Daniel Gotera, 37, was a resident of Barangay Buluangan, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
He was on his way home around 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 27 when attacked, a police report showed.
Gotera – assigned in the police station of Toboso, Negros Occidental – was rushed to the San Carlos City Hospital but declared “dead on arrival.”
Police recovered an empty shell of a .45-caliber pistol from the crime scene.
They have yet to identify the suspect and motive in the killing./PN
