BACOLOD City – A truck helper was shot to death in Sitio Candi-is, Barangay Tigbon, Calatrava, Negros Occidental.
Police identified the fatality as Jay Sabulbora of Barangay Bagong Silang, Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental.
The incident happened around 5:45 a.m. on Nov. 8.
According to the police, an unidentified man whom they allowed to ride on their truck attacked Sabulbora, hitting him twice on the right shoulder and lower arm.
The victim reportedly managed to escape, but he was followed by the suspect. He was again shot on the head and chest, police added.
He was rushed to the Calatrava Municipal Health Center but declared dead-on-arrival by the attending physician.
The suspect remained at large.
Police theorized an old grudge as the motive in the shooting./PN
