ILOILO City – A truck loaded with fruits and vegetables hit a police patrol car on corner Jalandoni-Ledesma streets, Barangay Wilson, City Proper around 8:30 a.m. yesterday. Eight policemen were injured.
The cops were members of the Police Regional Office 6’s Regional Public Safety Battalion. They were taken to the Iloilo Doctors’ Hospital.
Driven by Herman Ellorquez, the truck was bound for Barangay Tanza, City Proper. It hit the police patrol’s rear.
The hurt police officers were Police Officers 1 Raul Stanley Tamba, Jonas Lobusta, Necanor Lachica, Frank Denolang, Christian Kenneth Senon, Rey Ann Vigo, and Jonathan Arrem and Police Officer 2 Tax Caparas.
Ellorquez was taken to Police Station 1. He faces a charge for reckless imprudence resulting to multiple physical injuries./PN
