Two San Carlos JOs flunk drug test

BACOLOD City – Two newly hired job order (JO) employees of the city government of San Carlos were reportedly positive for illegal drug use following a random test among its employees last week.

Since the conduct of random drug tests last year, there are now 18 JOs and regular employees who have tested positive. Two have chosen to undergo drug rehabilitation, while one has resigned.

In a radio interview yesterday morning, Mayor Renato Gustilo said the drug-positive JOs were immediately removed, while any regular employees who test positive in the confirmatory tests will undergo rehabilitation. Refusal to undergo rehabilitation and the employee will have to face charges and dismissal.

He also said that random drug testing will continue among the city employees, adding that he does not want the city’s public image to be ruined. (Watchmen Daily Journal)/PN
