ILOILO City – A van driver reported to the police that a man who introduced himself as a policeman punched him.
Rene Dalida, 28, of Barangay Bolilao, Mandurriao district said his attacker, whom he was unable to identify, complained about the allegedly heavy smoke emanating from his vehicle’s exhaust pipe.
Dalida said he was on Delgado Street in City Proper when the motorcycle-riding man flagged him down.
Introducing himself as a cop, the man told Dalida about the van’s heavy exhaust gas, punched him on the left side of the neck, and gestured like he was trying to pull out a gun from his waist, the complainant said.
The incident happened at around 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 12, a police report showed.
The “policeman” also took Dalida’s driver’s license and turned it over to a traffic auxiliary, said the van driver. The traffic auxiliary later returned the driver’s license, Dalida said.
