BACOLOD City – A fish vendor was caught in possession of a firearm and ammunition without a license in Barangay Mambaroto, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.

Police arrested the motorcycle-riding Jussel Sanchez, 31, of Barangay Gil Montilla, Sipalay at a checkpoint.

A homemade .22-caliber revolver loaded with eight bullets and 13 live bullets were seized from him around 11:25 a.m. on Wednesday.

Sanchez failed to present his license to own and possess firearm, said Chief Inspector Romeo Vargas, Sipalay police chief.

Detained at the Sipalay City police station, he was charged with violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
