ILOILO – The barangay captain of Dawis Norte, Zarraga town was accidentally ran over by a van around 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16.
Belliardo Pornel Cerbolles, 58, sustained fatal head injuries. He was declared dead on arrival at the Iloilo Provincial Hospital in Pototan town.
According to Captain Dandy Ilalto, chief of the Zarraga Municipal Police Station (MPS), Cerbolles was crossing the road on his way home when he was hit by the Isuzu van driven by Richard Mangollado, 49, a resident of Barangay Sariri, Badiangan, Iloilo.
Ilalto said Mangollado surrendered to the New Lucena MPS and was turned over to the Zarraga MPS for proper disposition./PN
