ILOILO City – “Fuck you, patay-gutom, layas kamo di!”
Those were the words a neighbor allegedly told a barangay kagawad in Lopez Jaena Sur, La Paz district, a police report showed.
Kagawad Joycelinda Haresco, 64, said she was about to cross the street to her daughter’s house when a motorcycle noisily sped past her. Annoyed, she yelled at it, and the driver apologized, she told the police.
To her surprise, the driver, 24-year-old Leonard Jaruda – along with relatives – then appeared in front of their house, took a cellphone video of her, told her, “Fuck you, patay-gutom, layas kamo di,” and pushed her, Haresco told the police.
Her mother, Elma, tried to pacify them but the mother and sister of Jaruda also pushed her to a wooden fence and told her, “Patay-gutom,” Haresco further said.
The Jarudas cannot be reached for comment as of this writing.
