BACOLOD City – Police were still identifying the motive in a shooting incident in Barangay Tampalon, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.

On Thursday, the 42-year-old Sunny Tapdasan went to the 26-year-old Joseph Diosmaparan’s house wielding two .45-caliber guns, a police report showed.

Tapdasan was looking for Diosmaparan, the 29-year-old Julie Mutas Jr., Junnifer Meniel, 44, and a certain “Aming Lucibar.”

But Tapdasan only found Diosmaparan’s wife Sylvia in the house, police said.

Sylvia contacted Diosmaparan and the three others, who then went to the house on board motorcycles at around 11:30 a.m.

Tapdasan opened fire at Mutas and Aming Lucibar, who retaliated and shot him back, hitting him on the back.

Tapdasan then fled and was brought to the Dr. Gumersindo Garcia Sr. Memorial Hospital in Kabankalan City.

Tapdasan was later transferred to a hospital in this capital city where he was currently under treatment, police said.

Superintendent Rhea Santos, chief of the Kabankalan City police, said Tapdasan was a former member of the Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Bongcayao Brigade (RPA-ABB).

Diosmaparan, Mutas, Meniel, and Aming Lucibar were suspected members of the RPA-ABB, Santos added.

Police were still investigating./PN
