KALIBO, Aklan – On Jan. 6, all roads lead to the ABL Sports and Cultural Center for the 2017 Mutya it Kalibo Ati-Atihan.
Sixteen candidates are vying for the crown and title to be handed out at the Pageant Night.
They will be judged in four categories: swimsuit, production number, evening gown, and Ati-Atihan Festival costume.
The top 10 ladies will enter the on-stage question-and-answer portion for the final scoring.
There will be 13 Pageant Night judges.
The candidates are Harriette Panagsagan, Gillian Christine Bartolome, Eleonora Valentina Laorenza, Kimberly Joy Dalida, Camille Fate Santos, Honey Christy Bandiola, Eirene Mae Cuare, Janelyn Salido;
Theodora Elizabeth Laorenza, Jazzine Mae Andres, Rose Fuerte, Khadine Hontiveros, May Adel Ahmed Salman, Cleorodizel Baruela, Ma. Andrea Paula Gabay, and Rosebella Arbon.
Outgoing Mutya it Kalibo Ati-Atihan Michelle Lou Tordecillas Dela Cruz will crown her successor.
Minor awards include Miss Photogenic, Miss Congeniality, Miss Talent, and Best Ati-Atihan Festival Costume Designer.
Corporate awards will come from Save More Market, Coca Cola FEMSA Philippines, Petron, Globe, Ocean View, Talk ’N Text, Pioneer Insurance, and AirAsia.
Miss Globe Philippines 2015 Toni Alyessa Jaafar Hipolito, Rey Jason Gregorio and Allen Guillen — the hosts — will share the stage with the Kasafi Dance Ensemble and singer Melky Arboleda, who was part of the Philippine team at the 2016 World Championship of Performing Arts.
GMA TV network singer James Wright, Miss Global Philippines 2016 and Miss Global first runner-up Camille “CJ” Hirro, 2015 Binibining Piipinas International Janicel Lubina, and Miss Tourism Queen International Philippines 2016 Nancy Lee Leonard will grace the pageant.
Meanwhile 10 fitness buffs will show off their bodies during the Kalibo Ati-Atihan Men’s Physique competition, a side event. There will be three judges. (Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
