Why teen smut writers can’t win, Part 4

I DO NOT see myself fighting with the kids online.

The term I like is “engaging.”

I engage the Filipino kids online by provoking them, hopefully to thought, and not just the initial anger.

I really have a choice:

Ignore or engage.

But I like to work, and try to save the Filipino youth.

This is the concluding part of this series.

23. Why do I post the things I post? Because no one else dares talk sense to you. For them, you are insignificant. The lost generation na hindi dapat patulan. You don’t even exist on their radar. But I am of a different position. I still think that the Filipino youth is worth fighting for. Still worth saving. So I do what I do best: Use my most powerful words. Do not question my ways. ‘Wag n’yo akong pangaralan kung paano umasal ang multi-award-winning writer. You wouldn’t know. Kasi right now, hindi kayo multi-award-winning writer. Losers po kayo. And if you keep thinking the way you do, you will die a loser. I promise you that. Don’t lecture me on how to use my words. You had your chance, and you wrote smut and stupidities. And yet, here, I effectively got your attention. And now, you are thinking about all these. Triggered kayo. That’s good enough for me. When the dust settles, you will see that I am right. — You are welcome!

24. No, I am not feeling entitled. I grew up gay, suffered poverty, eked my way to literary stardom, worked my ass off in America, married and got widowed, and now 52 years old. If there is any entitlement on my part, it is all well “earned.” Kayo po ang feeling entitled to think that people should just respect you, teenagers, and accept you for all the shit that you are. What makes you think that your opinion on smut is more important than mine? Educated opinion ba ‘yan? Nasa panig n’yo ba ang batas? Popular opinion ba ‘yan? No, shitheads. And I swear to God, hindi n’yo mapantayan ang breadth (yes, that’s a word) of my reading experience. So, I really know what I’m talking about. So again, no, I’m not acting entitled; you are!

25. Argue all you want, but in 20 years time, in 30 years time, babalikan ng mga tao ang article na ito. Because this is true, this is good, this is beautifully composed and organized. And in 10 years time, you will still be unknown (or known as a slutty smut writer). I will wait for you all to grow up, and to thank me for opening your eyes to this conversation. — You are all welcome!

*

I know many of you won’t understand my ways.

And you have the right to be angry, and do something else to save our kids from porn.

There is no use crucifying me.

The kids already acknowledged that I was right.

That they just didn’t like my teaching approach.

Well, I don’t care about their likes.

They don’t even listen to their parents and teachers!

*

My joy, of course, is the unfolding of the story on Facebook.

People messaging me, promising me that they won’t write smut ever again.

People trying to defend me.

And most people agreeing that smut writing among the teens and minors is just bad.

They hate my ways of teaching, but they say they got the point.

Well, I have a mouthful to say about that, too, so wait for another series.

Preview: We Got Your Point: Teen Smut Writing Is Bad, But…

By Peter Solis Nery

*

No buts. Swallow it. My point has been made clear: TEENAGE SMUT WRITING IS BAD. And should not be encouraged. In any way!

I will say it again: Those who encourage it, and those who defend it, promote it, and teach the young that it is okay to write smut, I wish they get Covid, and their loved ones, too!

Scares you, right? Well, maybe now you should really practice physical distancing, handwashing, wearing masks, and all those precautionary measures to prevent yourself from catching the virus. Well, habang wala pang bakuna, ibayong ingat po muna tayo. Wala munang mga unnecessary travels at risks of exposures. Do not let your guard down.
