ILOILO City – A 24-year-old woman was arrested on Friday in an entrapment operation in Mandurriao district.
Melvelyn Daradar of Barangay Dayao, Roxas City would be charged with estafa and falsification of private documents, according to Police Major Jess Baylon of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group 6 (CIDG-6) that carried out the entrapment at around 11 a.m. inside a mall.
According to Baylon, they planned an entrapment after a female complainant sought CIDG’s help.
The complainant said the suspect introduced herself as an employee of JB Donasco Realty Services and was selling her a piece of land in Guimaras province.
The complainant told the CIDG she gave the suspect P20,000 as down payment but got suspicious when Daradar asked for an additional P25,000 as “processing fee.”
According to Baylon, the complainant checked with JB Donasco Realty Services and found out that Daradar was no longer connected with the company.
Daradar was detained at the CIDG-6 detention cell./PN
