ILOILO City – The motorcycle they were riding crashed against a truck in Barangay Cubay, San Dionisio, Iloilo.
The 42-year-old Liberty Buendia of Barangay Talo-ato, San Dionisio succumbed to head injuries while her 52-year-old husband who was driving the motorcycle, Dante, and their child were slightly injured.
It was around 8:50 a.m. on Oct. 17 when the truck driven by Joebert Barrio, 41, of Pilar, Capiz overtook the motorcycle bound for Barangay Bagacay in San Dionisio.
However, Barrio failed to quickly return to his lane. He hit the much smaller vehicle running in the opposite direction.
Liberty was thrown off his motorcycle, causing him a fatal head injury.
On the other hand, Barrio was detained by responding police officers.
He is willing to amicably settle the incident./PN
