ILOILO – A 54-year-old woman was injured after a landslide hit Barangay Canauili Tres, Janiuay town following heavy rains on Tuesday, September 17.
Rona Mae Lozada Lutero sustained multiple fractures, particularly severe injury to one of her fingers which was broken during her fall.
Emergency Medical Services and Search and Rescue teams from the Philippine Army were immediately dispatched to the site.
According to reports, first aid was provided to Lutero before she was transported by ambulance to the nearest hospital for further medical treatment.
As of this writing, authorities continued to monitor the situation in the area and assessed the overall impact of the landslide on the local community.
No further injuries have been reported but residents are advised to stay alert./PN
