10,000 BPO jobs await displaced tourism sector workers

AROUND 10,000 jobs in the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry will be opened up for tourism sector workers who were displaced amid the coronavirus pandemic.

According to a “24 Oras Weekend” report on Sunday, the Department of Tourism (DOT) teamed up with a BPO company to help displaced tourism sector workers.

Those who will be hired will work as customer service representatives, tech support, supervisors, or managers.

Applicants will be required to have a high school diploma.

The virtual job fair will take place on the following dates:

* Luzon – September 22, 24, 29, and October 1

* Visayas – September 17, 18, and October 1

* Mindanao – September 15 and 16
