BACOLOD City – Barangays Mansilingan and Pahanocoy in this city were placed on “ultra risk” status.
after three residents there were found out to be carriers of SARS-coV-2, the virus which causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID).
Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, chairperson of the City Inter-Agency Task Force against COVID-19, disclosed that three patients were all asymptomatic and currently under home quarantine.
However, Familiaran clarified that only the areas of these cases where tagged as “ultra risk.”
These barangays have already placed a barricade in front of their houses, he said.
The COVID-19 patient in Barangay Pahanocoy was a 29-year-old male locally stranded individual (LSI) from Cebu.
He arrived on June 19 and was brought to the city’s quarantine center. He was also subjected to swab testing for COVID-19.
On June 21, he was released from the isolation center to observe home quarantine pending his results.
Pahanocoy village chief Yolanda Noble said the patient preferred to go on home quarantine.
In Barangay Mansilingan, the patients were a couple – a 53-year-old female and her husband 63-year-old. Both were locally stranded individuals from Manila who arrived here on June 21.
According to Mansilingan village chief Rodolfo Pico, the couple went home following their arrival.
“They requested not to be isolated in the city’s quarantine center because of their age that it is no longer conducive for them to stay there,” Pico said.
Familiaran said the areas were declared as “ultra risk” when there is a COVID-19 patient undergoing home quarantine and it will be only lifted once the next laboratory result will turn out negative./PN
