20-year-old Iloilo City student collared in Antique drug sting

ANTIQUE — Joint anti-illegal drug operatives arrested a 20-year-old student from Iloilo City and seized approximately 10 grams of suspected dried marijuana leaves during a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Angel, San Jose, Antique, on Monday afternoon, August 10.

Police identified the suspect as lias “Niel,” classified as a street level individual. A native of Iloilo City, the suspect was temporarily residing in Barangay Funda-Dalipe, San Jose.

The sting operation was conducted around 1:18 p.m. by joint elements of the San Jose Municipal Police Station’s (MPS) Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) as the lead unit, supported by the Antique Provincial Police Office–Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (AntPPO-PDEU) and the PDEA Antique Provincial Office.

Confiscated during the operation were one self-sealing transparent plastic sachet containing suspected dried marijuana leaves used as the buy-bust item, and an additional sachet containing suspected marijuana leaves, valued at approximately P2,000

Also recovered were the P500 marked buy-bust money and a black coin purse.

The suspect was taken into custody by the San Jose MPS for proper documentation and the filing of appropriate charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)./PN
