BACOLOD City — A 21-year-old man died in an alleged suicide incident in Purok Sibuyas, Barangay Gil Montilla, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental on Wednesday afternoon, September 23.
Police identified the victim as alias “Rentoy,” a resident of the area.
Sipalay City Police Station personnel responded to a call at around 4:32 p.m. after receiving a report that the victim had been rushed to the Merciditas J. Montilla District Hospital, where attending physicians declared him dead on arrival.
According to police reports, the victim was discovered inside their home by his mother, hanging from a wooden roof truss with a piece of rubber tied around his neck.
The mother informed police that the victim’s father had reportedly reprimanded him before the incident regarding his excessive mobile gaming.
The victim’s body will undergo a post-mortem examination as part of the police investigation./PN
