BACOLOD City – Operatives of the Kabankalan City Police Station confiscated around P102,000 worth of suspected shabu, along with an illegal firearm and ammunition, from a 35-year-old suspect during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Hilamonan, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
The suspect, identified as alias “Jojo,” is an unemployed resident of the village.
In addition to the approximately 15 grams of illegal drugs and paraphernalia, police also recovered a 12-gauge break-type pistol loaded with live ammunition and extra rounds of ammunition during the search incidental to the arrest.
Police said the operation stemmed from information provided by a confidential informant alleging that the suspect was involved in the distribution of illegal drugs in Kabankalan and Himamaylan cities.
Following surveillance and validation activities, police conducted the sting operation at around 10:29 a.m. on Sept. 22 that led to the suspect’s arrest.
The suspect was detained at the Kabankalan police station. He will be charged for alleged violations of Republic Act (RA) 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs act of 2002) and RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act)./PN
