ROXAS City – Four public information officers (PIOs) from Capiz were recognized as part of the top 11 best performing PIOs in Western Visayas.
They were Margie Gimeno of the Tapaz municipal government, Mary Jane Amigo of the Philhealth-Capiz Social Insurance Office, Ayr Altavas of the Provincial Health Office-Health Education and Promotions, and Senior Police Officer 3 Donna Asmod of the Capiz Police Provincial Office.
They were all members of the Capiz Association of Government Public Information Officers, Inc. (CAGPIO).
Asmod – who is the president of the CAGPIO – was also a recipient of a presidential medal for being the Philippine Information Agency’s (PIA) Best Performing Officer Hall of Famer in 2013.
Asmod, Gimeno, Amigo, Altavas will receive their awards during the Information Officers’ Year-End Conference and Awards 2017 on Dec. 6 at the Iloilo Grand Xing Imperial Hotel in Iloilo City.
“This is our way of appreciating and recognizing the individual and collective efforts of the information officers in the national government agencies and local government units,” said PIA regional director Ma. Janet Mesa. (PIA/PN)
