Ai-Ai delas Alas declared that she is now officially single as the dissolution of her marriage to Gerald Sibayan was recently finalized.
The veteran comedian disclosed this through her Facebook page on Tuesday, March 10.
“Restarting my life… Reboot,” she said. “Opisyal na akong single. Isang bagong simula, isang mas mabuting ako ang hinaharap,” she stated.
(I am officially single. A new beginning, and a better version of myself lies ahead.)
Delas Alas then admitted that while she celebrates that her marriage has officially ended, she feels sorry to God.
“Masaya ako kasi single na ko; malungkot ako kasi bumitaw ako sa pangako sa harap ng Panginoon. Wala na kasi akong kakapitan kasi bumitaw na ‘yung isa,” she wrote.
(I’m happy because I’m single now, but I’m also sad because I let go of the promise I made before God. It is because I have nothing left to hold on to because the other one already let go.)
“Sorry po, Lord, bumitaw ako sa sinumpaan ko,” she added. (Sorry, Lord, for not holding on to the vow I made.)
Delas Alas and Sibayan, with whom the actress shares an almost 30-year age gap, got married in 2017 then parted ways in October 2024.
Last month, Delas Alas declared that she’s done with marriage and entering into a relationship with younger men.
The actress-comedienne made the bold declaration in a media con for her film “Batang Paco,” when she was asked if she’s open to dating someone younger than her.
“Hindi na ako papatol sa bata. Ayoko na. May age limit na. Tapos na tapos na tapos na (I won’t date a younger man again. I don’t want to. I have an age limit now. I’m truly done with them),” she said.
Before Sibayan, Delas Alas got married twice, namely, to former actor Miguel Vera and Jed Salang. The singer-actor Vera is the father of her three children. (Anne Pasajol © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
