Aklan cops cited for antidrug arrests

KALIBO, Aklan – Six members of the Kalibo municipal police station and Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Operations Task Group received Medalya ng Kagalingan (Medal of Merit) in Camp Delgado, Iloilo City.
The awardees were Chief Inspector Terrence Paul Sta. Ana, Inspector Jose Iturralde, Senior Police Officer 4 Rene Armenio, Police Officers 3 Ephraem Pura Jr. and Joseph Cavan, and Police Officer Irene Alfaro.
The police operatives were able to arrest drug suspects Menandro Sarabia and Leonora Mauhay in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Estancia, Kalibo.
Recovered during the operation were two heatp-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing shabu valued at P69,441.60 and other drug paraphernalia.
By this achievement, the awardees earned credit not only for themselves but for the entire police organization, said Superintendent Gilbert Gorero, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office 6.
