Anne Curtis, the star of the just-released film “Sid & Aya: Not a Love Story,” appeared ecstatic Thursday as she thanked those who were first in line to catch the Viva Films production in cinemas.
She said “Sid & Aya,” which features her first team-up with Dingdong Dantes, earned P9 million after its nationwide debut on Wednesday.
On “It’s Showtime,” which Curtis co-hosts, she also announced that the box-office performance of the Irene Villamor-directed movie pushed the screening count to over 200 cinemas across the country.
Curtis credited stellar reviews of the film and “word of mouth” for its first-day success.
Also written by Villamor, “Sid & Aya,” at least on the surface, follows the titular characters – an insomniac who hires a mysterious woman to keep him company and cope with his loneliness. (ABS-CBN News)
