ANTIQUE – Antique Police Provincial Office (PPO) policemen took the Basic Underwater Search, Rescue and Recovery Operations Course (BUSRROC) in San Jose de Buenavista town on Monday, April 10.

APPO director Police Colonel Alexander G. Mariano led the activity’s opening ceremony.

Sixteen police non-commissioned officers and one police commissioned officer from the 1st and 2nd Antique Provincial Mobile Force companies participated.

BUSRROC sought to enhance the underwater skills of police divers essential in search, rescue and recovery operations. It is not for recreational diving but for operations for which a police diver is needed.

Also present during the opening ceremony were Police Lieutenant Colonel Willy D. Diel, deputy provincial director for Administration; Police Lieutenant Colonel Angelo C. Pueblos, deputy provincial director for Operations; and Police Lieutenant Colonel Alfredo Sumaray Jr., chief of the Provincial Administrative and Resource Management Unit.

After the opening ceremony at the town’s covered court, the reception rites and actual lessons followed at the PC Beach in Barangay 4, San Jose de Buenavista, on April 11.

Five members of the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force served as instructors in the training./PN
