ANTIQUE – The Antique Government Center, a hub for all national and provincial government transactions, will soon materialize.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the P970-million project was held in Barangay Badiang, San Jose de Buenavista, on April 28, and its construction will begin in two or three months.

“Hopefully within two or three months kasi i-bid na ‘yan. After the bidding give it two months para mag-start ng construction. Gusto ko matapos in my term. Less than two years, eto kay gusto ko siempre ako ang ma-inaugurate,” Cadiao said in an interview with Panay News.

Of the P970-million budget, over P110 million was used to purchase the 6.4-hectare lot, which was appraised by the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), according to Cadiao.

The three-story building will cater to provincial government offices with its own atrium and will utilize solar energy. Separate structures will be constructed to house the new Hall of Justice, national agencies, a convention center, a bigger parking space, a greenhouse, and a rainwater harvesting reservoir.

Once completed, Cadiao said the center will be a one-stop shop to make government services more accessible for Antiqueños. (With reports from PIO LAVEGA/Province of Antique)/PN
