BACOLOD City – This city’s Department of Public Services (DPS) head, Ramel Palalon, has been dismissed from service and is facing administrative charges.
City Legal Officer (CLO) Romeo Carlos Ting Jr. said Palalon was dismissed for nine counts of gross neglect of duty and grave misconduct due to the issuance of fuel receipts for unserviceable heavy equipment.
The equipment was allegedly used at the sanitary landfill in Barangay Felisa.
Aside from Palalon, the driver of the heavy equipment, Darwin Cardones, was also suspended for six months for simple neglect of duty.
The order was served by the CLO on April 27.
Ting said Palalon and Cardones can still file their appeal at the Civil Service Commission.
