ILOILO City – A police officer and his cousin were stabbed in Barangay 1, Tigbauan, Iloilo.
Police Officer 2 Sigfredo Tuala, 55, assigned in a police station in Zamboanga City and a resident of Barangay Isawan, Tigbauan, and cousin Rodrigo Tuala, 47, of Barangay Napnapan Sur, Tigbauan were rushed to the Western Visayas Medical Center.
Officer Tuala sustained a stab wound on the left arm, while his cousin was wounded on the chest and stomach.
The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. Thursday when the victims were headed home.
Officer Tuala saw the suspect, 32-year-old Michael Torre of Barangay 2, Tigbauan, and told him to open his bag, but the latter refused. A heated argument that ensued led to the stabbing.
Torre fled after the incident./PN
