BORACAY – This island resort was named by a travel website as one of the top 10 best destinations for children in Asia.
Boracay ranked sixth in the “kid-friendly destinations in Asia” list of The Poor Traveler, just a spot behind Bohol province.
“Whatever your family’s preference is, Boracay has it,” the website said, “from budget to luxury, chill to extreme activities, local cuisine to popular food establishments, water to land attractions, or peaceful strolling to exciting nightlife.”
The Poor Traveler recognized the island as “one of the most sought-after vacation destinations” that “has learned to adjust to the needs of its diverse patrons.”
Cable car and zip line, island-hopping, paraw sailing, and parasailing are the Boracay “top attractions for kids” the website cited.
The nearby Bohol, on the other hand, “offers a wide array of attractions for those traveling with their families – beaches, adventure activities, nature tours, historical sites, and wildlife,” the website said.
“What’s great about Bohol if you’re based in the Philippines is that it is home to some of the wonders featured in history textbooks,” it added.
Among the Bohol “top attractions for kids” the website cited were the Chocolate Hills, the Loboc River Cruise, the Bilar Man-made Forest, and the Balicasag Island.
Tokyo in Japan topped the kid-friendly list, followed by Hong Kong, Seoul in South Korea, and Singapore.
Rounding out the top 10 after Boracay were Kyoto and Osaka in Japan, Dubai in United Arab Emirates, Bali in Indonesia, and Johor Baru in Malaysia. (With a report from Jun Aguirre/PN)
