Bullets seized in house raids

ILOILO City – Police failed to arrest a suspect for illegal possession of ammunition in Barangay Talongonan, Passi City, Iloilo.

Rene Pampag was not inside his house when officers from the Passi City police station served him a search warrant on Monday.

Despite this, the police went on with the search and found empty shells of a .45-caliber pistol and carbine.

A charge for violation of Republic Act (RA) 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, was filed against Pampag.

On the other hand, in Barangay Janipaan West, Mina, Iloilo, a man was caught for illegal possession of bullets.

The 47-year-old Romy Gregorio was detained in the lockup cell of the Mina police station.

He was arrested after police raided his house on the strength of a search warrant around 6 a.m. on Sunday.

Recovered from Gregorio’s house were bullets of a .22-caliber revolver, .9mm pistol and AK47 rifle.

Gregorio was also facing charges for violation of RA 10591./PN
